Project Engineer. Licensed drone pilot. NAU Construction Management student.
Tyler Muranaka works with CORE Construction in Arizona, with hands-on experience across both the office and the field on commercial and public-sector projects ranging from ground-up school buildings to athletic facility rebuilds and various JOC projects. His project exposure spans every major phase of construction, from preconstruction and buyout through slab pours, structural framing, envelope, interior finishes, and full closeout.
On the office side, Tyler manages the full documentation lifecycle of a project. That means setting up and maintaining submittal registers, writing and tracking RFIs from issuance through resolution, drafting subcontractor Attachment A scope of work documents, coordinating between field superintendents and architects, processing change orders, and running OAC meetings from agenda to distributed minutes. He has piloted Procore Financials as part of a company-wide initiative and works across multiple active projects simultaneously.
In the field, Tyler has trained directly under senior superintendents, taking on real responsibility for subcontractor progress tracking, site logistics, daily safety oversight, new worker orientations, quality control inspections, punch list management, and closeout documentation. He has coordinated complex multi-trade scopes post-masonry and roofing, managed phased schedules on occupied sites, and built flow charts to communicate work sequencing to field crews.
As a licensed FAA Part 107 commercial drone pilot, Tyler leads aerial operations across CORE's Navajo Nation reservation projects, capturing site maps, progress documentation, topographical data, aerial photography, and panoramas via DroneDeploy, while also conducting onsite safety inspections. He tracks all flight activity and allocates flight costs back to individual projects. He holds an OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification and brings the same attention to detail to every scope he touches.
